Management Team
Since qualifying in 1984 Alastair has worked in both management and finance positions at Board level in several leisure based entrepreneurial businesses before founding F&L in 1992. The commercial experience and disciplines he gained during this time has provided him with significant expertise in the owner managed and SME market. Alastair now specialises in corporate finance work with an emphasis on strategic and exit planning and execution. He is London area Chairman of the UK 200 Group, the largest mutual association of established Chartered Accountant firms in the UK.
Dominic entered the profession in 1988 and trained at a medium sized practice. He joined F&L in 1998 as a manager and became a partner in 2002. Dominic now heads up the Business Advisors division. His clients principally comprise UK SMEs, Plcs and subsidiaries of overseas companies. He has significant experience of start-ups, corporate structures, management information and accounting systems.
Gabriel qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse and immediately transferred into their tax department where he dealt with the taxation affairs of large companies and, in particular, UK subsidiaries of US companies. He started his own practice in 1991 which merged with F&L in 1997. Gabriel is responsible for all aspects of taxation and also has joint responsibility for F&L's substantial portfolio of outsourced UK subsidiary start-ups.
Martin qualified with BDO Stoy Hayward in 1990 where he dealt with the financial accounting affairs of a variety of companies from owner managed SME's to listed Plc's. He joined F&L in 1995 heading up the Firm's Business Assurance Team. Since 2000, Martin has been heavily involved in the development and growth of the firm's Financial Outsourcing division and is personally responsible for the a substantial portfolio of outsourced UK subsidiary start-ups.
Jonathan has more than 15 years experience in UK and US expatriate tax planning and consulting. He started his career at Ernst & Young in 1988 and subsequently joined Deloitte & Touche where he worked in both London and North America before returning to the UK in 2001. Jonathan specialises in expatriate tax planning and compliance for non-domiciled individuals and for UK nationals leaving the UK. From his experience in the "big four" accountancy firms, Jonathan has extensive knowledge of the secondment programmes of a number of multinational companies in diverse industry sectors. He is equally comfortable dealing with the tax affairs of individuals and the expatriate tax and social security planning requirements for small and medium size companies.
Donald Cockburn
Partner - Expatriate Tax
Donald is an expatriate Canadian who worked in Poland and Russia before re-locating to the UK in the autumn of 2001. Prior to joining F&L, Donald was employed by Deloitte & Touche in London and Toronto where he was extensively involved in the firm's internal training programme. Donald is proficient at handling corporate clients with large populations of tax equalized employees as well as individuals who want to ensure they optimise their tax positions in their home and host country tax regimes.
Anthony Hart

Tim Atkins
Director
Tim trained with Scottish Life Assurance Company and has considerable experience having worked as an Independent Financial Adviser since 1993. He has worked in the City of London and previously managed the Employee Benefits team for a brokerage in Kent. In April 2005 Tim joined Fitzgerald and Law as Director of F&L Financial Services Ltd specialising in the design, implementation and ongoing administration of Employee Benefit Programmes. Tim has built a large network of contacts, particularly in North America, where he visits regularly. Tim works with both US and UK Government agencies assisting with their education and understanding of the UK Employee Benefits systems.
