Melissa Geffert

Melissa qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales in 2001 at Eversheds (UK) where she specialised in providing commercial legal advice to UK and global high growth technology clients, the public sector and financial services industry. She spent time in-house at Orange Personal Communications working primarily on high value procurement projects. Following this, Melissa spent 4 years working at Osborne Clarke law firm most recently in their Silicon Valley Office providing advice to many of the area’s gaming, media, social networking, technology and communications companies. Melissa returned to the UK at the end of 2007 to become Head of Legal Services for Opal Telecom (the business to business division of TalkTalk Group, which is FTSE 200 and now the largest broadband provider in the UK).

Melissa joined Fitzgerald and Law in May 2010 and is based in our San Francisco office where she provides practical, effective and straightforward advice and assistance to companies looking to globalise their businesses.

Melissa’s areas of legal specialism are commercial contracts (including distribution, agency, outsourcing, licensing, consultancy), data protection , intellectual property (protection and exploitation), UK communications regulatory and EU competition (anti-trust).
